Since I've gained a relation to many of the members in Destiny's Edge through the game, I was surprised to find myself that attached in the end. Read the whole story, part one: By the time Logan and Rytlock came to aid Zojja in the Crucible of Eternity , they had reforged their close ties with each other, with Logan calling Rytlock his "brother" at one point, much to Zojja's surprise. This is easily the weakest book in the three published entries of the series.

Edge of Destiny- is it good? : Guildwars2
I really really loved the story of how Destiny's Edge came together, how it was circumstance and chance that drew them together and bound them. Rootless, all of you are. I love the Guild Wars lore, so what this book really does is draws attention to key characters within Guild Wars 2, characters I interacted with in game but really had no understanding of their back story. While the races of Tyria stand apart, six heroic individuals will come together to fight for their people: May 12, Lily rated it it was ok.

The races of Tyria stand on the edge of destiny. There's a major piece of chronology in GW2 that came from the creation of Edge of Destiny. I could definitely feel the temper, emotion and "typical" reactions from each character, and I didn't feel like it was too out of place nor too neutral.
I loved working on Edge of Desinty -- loved exploring the ever-expanding landscape of GW2 -- but this was a challenging job. With a somewhat good beginning, I was expecting more of a story from this book.
Roughly the first half of Edge of Destiny is sheer brilliance. Unfortunately this is just one of many problems with this book.
The author aims for humor at the oddest moments, and his efforts are uneven - the funny lines often come off as awkward and forced as often as they work. Sep 27, Derrick Lim rated it liked it. However this ends up being two groups then then merge into one group to head off to fight Dragonspawn more Dragonspawn and oh more Dragonspawn and ultimately a Dragon.
From a writing standpoint though, this book is abysmal. These changes would have certainly made the story stronger.
But this story shows the other side of the whole game. While playing the game, I didn't care much for the other members of Destiny's Edge save Logan and Caithe, and I only cared about them because I had played a Sylvari and a Human. Mass Market Paperback eBook. Logan's actions at the end felt like Diabolus ex Machina, which might even be worse than Deus ex Machina in my mind.
But then again, stretching out those "missions" would thicken the book considerably. More Than a Game: Anet is aware of and are looking into the issue. Overall, it was a really fun read. So, when writing a novel based on a great game, you ask yourself what parts of the game experience can be translated into a narrative. Edge of Destiny is the second book in the Guild Wars series, bridging the gap between the online-role-playing-game, Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2.
Definitely mixed feelings about this book.
